As owner/chef of flora, Bob Sargent focuses continuously on providing his customers with hearty, flavorful meals using the freshest local ingredients available. Before opening flora, with wife Mary Jo, Bob cooked at some of the Boston area's finest restaurants including Olives, the Blue Room, Providence, and the Harvest. His first restaurant job was as a dishwasher at age sixteen, and has been involved with food service to some degree ever since. Bob serves on the board of New England Culinary Institute and the Federation of Massachusetts Farmers Markets. Bob is a graduate of Vermont's New England Culinary Institute and also attended Clark University where he studied math and fun. Other than cooking, he enjoys playing drums, reading and listening to all kinds of music.
